Amanda Johnson- Child Care (146 Hours)
May 23, 2016: The day I started my internship, it was nice. Everybody was very nice and treating me like I was one of them. The first job was post flyers on every bulletin at the Y. (9am-12pm)
May 24, 2016: My second day of my internship was good. I and my supervisor discussed my schedule and made set times for me to work. My schedule were very flexible and she told me that I could just come anytime that I'm free. After we took care of that, I had to organize all of the binders in the office. (10am-1pm)
May 25, 2016: Today was a very slow day at the Y, beside the day care program there wasn't anything going on. Amanda gave me a tour of the facility. After the tour, went in her office and organized more binders, then make copies of applications. (1pm-4pm)
May 26, 2016: I spent most of the time in the office. I had to go through binders seeking missing information throughout the children’s applications. Then highlight the blanks and set them in a new pile for Amanda to review the next day. (10am-1pm)
May 30, 2016: Today in the office, I had to get the applications the was missing information and check for the parents contact information. Once the contact information was found, I had to call every parent about finishing the applications. (Noon-3pm)
May 31, 2016: I met with John Aragon, the Member Engagement Manager; he was considering me helping him with his food drive. He gave me a lot of information about it and more activities he do with the community. (10am-1pm)
June 1, 2016: It was a slow day in the office, I was just helping Amanda preparing with a Summer Day Camp that the Y was hosting. Also, I had to prepare the applications for the camp then stack them. (Noon-3pm)
June 6, 2016: Today was the first day of the Junior Jungle Preschool Camp at the Y. Also, i just found out that there was another camp, The Safari Camp that Amanda was hosting. Even though she was outside with the kids I stayed in the office looking at applications and putting them in alphabetical order and stayed on the computer. (9am-noon)
June 7, 2016: Today was a slow day at the Y. I stayed in the office making a list on the Excel document of names and ages of all of the kids in both camps. (10am-1pm)
June 8, 2016: I went outside today and Amanda introduced me to most of the kids and volunteers in the camp. Then headed straight to the office to read the instructions Amanda had for me. More applications came in today, so i had to organized them and add more kids to the system. (Noon-3pm)
June 9, 2016: I really didn't spend a lot of time in the office today. I was just walking around putting more flyers up and introduced myself to the CEO. (11am-2pm)
June 13, 2016: I stayed in the office today. I had a lot of work today since I didn't come Friday. I had to over 75 kids that weren’t in the system, but complete their applications. Once the applications are in, I had to organized more binders in the office so Amanda can check the binders later today or tomorrow. (Noon-3pm)
June 14, 2016: Since I wasn't finished with binders yesterday; I had to complete the task today. Today wasn't a busy day at the Y, so I just took more time on applications and binders than usual. (9am-noon)
June 15, 2016: Today was I joined Amanda outside with the Safari camp for about 45 minutes. Going back to the Y, she informed me that she needs more copies for me to make then and make folders. (Noon-3pm)
June 16, 2016: Today was kind of slow today. I just tried to stay busy because she didn't have an assignment for me. She referred me to some people that thought needed help with anything they're doing. But we spent most of the time talking about ideas on the YMCA improving and increase more members. (11am-2pm)
June 20, 2016: Today was kind of slow, and repetitive. I was in the office all day doing more organizing. I had to delete some kids off the Excel file because they didn't want to participate in the camp anymore. (Noon-3pm)
June 21, 2016: Today was a slow day, no work today, so i just stayed played basketball and did homework in the office. (9am-1pm)
June 22, 2016: I had to organized some toys and balls for the kids to play with, then I took them outside to give to the kids. After, I went back to the office and sort out some more files. (Noon-3pm)
June 23, 2016: Today was another slow day this week. Tried to stay busy today, but I just stayed on the computer to do another assignment for my online class. (10am-1pm)
June 27, 2016: Today was a productive day, I was in the office today calling parents in regards on their children being absent to camp. (Noon-3pm)
June 28, 2016: I had to make more calls to parent. I didn't finish yesterday, but I finally finished the rest of the parents that was on the list. Today was kind of tough because of the parent’s attitude and the tone of voice i was receiving from them. (10am-1pm)
June 29, 2016: Today was a tired day, well at least that’s how I felt. I got used to the same task i was giving so I started working ahead with everything. That'll give me more time to work on my school work. (10am-1pm)
June 30, 2016: Today I really didn't do anything in the office but start on an essay I had to complete by Sunday. (9am-1pm)
July 11, 2016: Today was a good day. Amanda gave me a project to occupy my time more and help to increase memberships to the Y. She didn't exact tell me my assignment yet but she seemed so confident that i would get the job done. I was excited because I can get out of the office more. After, I had to install some more kids in the Excel sheet on the computer. (Noon-3pm)
July 12, 2016: I spent most of my time on the computer to check out different aspects and ideas on helping the Y in anyway. (10am-1pm)
July 13, 2016: Spent most of the time in the office today, had to knock out some discussion post for my class. She sent me the directions of the project and the due date through email. (9am-1pm)
July 14: Today's my father birthday, I was working fast today in the office helping her organized some files and get my essay started. Also, she gave me some advice on pursuing career in helping kids after I was getting good reports from Carrie Fox, the former director of Youth Sports, stating I was good with kids. (10am-1pm)
July 18, 2016: Today was a slow day in the office just stayed on the computer all day. I had to add more kids to the Excel sheets for the camp. Also i wanted to get a jump start on my homework that's due this weekend. (9am-noon)
July 19, 2016: Today in the office was writing ideas about my project. It's coming along great. My project is trying to bring more volunteers in the Y. I had to come up with different strategies on how can it get done. (10am-1pm)
July 20, 2016: Today in the office, I had to do some more of my homework assignment. Then, I organized some binders and make some copies of applications. (Noon-3pm)
July 21, 2016: Today was slow and sort of repetitive. I stayed in the office all day brainstorming on ideas and I thought about making flyers and sending them to schools. (10am-1pm)
July 25, 2016: I had a productive day at the office, Amanda had some thing for me to throw away and sort out before all of the summer are coming to an end soon. (9am-noon)
July 26, 2016: Today was a good day. There was not a lot of things to do, so I played basketball. Amanda was outside assisting with camp, I went outside to see if she needed any assistance. She just but poster to hang around the buildings. (10am-1pm)
July 27, 2016: I spent the whole day making flyers for the project. (10am-3pm)
July 28, 2016: Today in the office, I had made some more flyers because she stated that she wanted more information about the YMCA events. Then I had started on my homework that was due this Sunday. (9am-2pm)
August 25, 2016: I completed the flyers and I passed them out to different school in Tiffin, OH. (8am-1pm)
November 16, 2016: Today was my first day back after the football season. Amanda placed me in her School Age Child Care Program, helping kids with their homework and do activities after achool. (4pm-6pm)
November 17, 2016: Today in the program, we took the kids outside and played football. We had to come back in because one of the children got hurt. The kids got their homework out and when they were finished they played board games. (4pm-6pm)
November 21, 2016: Today in the program, the kids went swimming. I had to make sure that the kids was on their best behavior and nobody gets hurt. They spent one hour in the pool, then back to the child care room to do homework. (4pm-6pm)
November 28, 2016: Today the kids was in the pool today. I had to kick some kids out the pool because they were fighting. Other than the fight, the kids really had fun today. After the pool, they had to do homework. I had to talk to this one little girl for talking back at Amnada and I thought it was really disrepectful. (4pm-6pm)

June 8, 2016: Tonight was our first meeting with all of the softball coaches, explaining all the rules and regulations. Everybody was cooperative and was looking forward to starting practice next week. (6pm-8pm)
June 16, 2016: Today was the fist day of softball practice. My job was too walk around and make sure everything was going good with the teams. It was a team that was short-staffed so i helped out for the remainder of practice. (4pm-7pm)
June 21, 2016: Today was a nice day outside. Practice was good and i had to put everything back in the shed once everybody was done with the equipment. (4pm-7pm)
June 30, 2016: Today i was informed that there were 4 softball games today, and MIke wanted me to help monitor all of them. (4:30pm-7:30pm)

June 7, 2016: Me and John still not finished with setting up the food drive. I realized there was a nice amount of people didn't circle any location on where people wanted to pick up their food from. I had to contact all of the parents to confirm the locations and give the dates we sending the food and what time the parents can come to pick them up. (8am-10am)
June 8, 2016: After i finished with my job with Amanda, John needed my help folding t-shirts and putting them in bags. Once we finished, I had to make some more calls to parent that couldn't reach yestersday. (3pm-5pm)
